The Role: 

On the back of a successful Year 1 for an international Confidential Client, Climate Horizons has been selected for Year 2 with this ambitious and proactive client and seeks the support of a well-rounded mid-level candidate. The candidate will be predominantly working on the chosen project. Still, there will be an opportunity for other ad-hoc tasks and, once the project has culminated, to establish their preferred project type. 

The ideal candidate will thrive in a remote work environment and within a global, multinational team. 

We expect that the candidate will:

  • Based either in the United Kingdom or Europe 
  • Fluent in both English and Portuguese (preferably Angolan/Portugal dialects); this is a must; please do not apply if you are not fluent in both;
  • Have 5 – 8 years of experience in sustainability but feel free to apply if you have adjacent experiences in consultancy;
  • Hold an environmental sciences education (environmental sciences, geology, biology, maths, chemistry, geology, etc.); preference will be given to those with a Masters, but an undergraduate with relevant solid experience will be considered.
  • Must be comfortable with E&S impact assessments, ESG reporting and sustainability
  • Confident command of Google Suite, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.. (We also use Slack and Monday.com, but these can be taught!)

 

Soft Skills Required:  

  • Understand start-up environments and the particulars of these, being an equal chance for fast-paced growth and short turnarounds  
  • Be comfortable working fully remotely in a fast-paced virtual environment 
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently 
  • Flexibility and adaptability to move between tasks, shifting deadlines & responsibilities

Type: Full-time, either contractual or payrolled, dependent on the preference and location of the candidate. 

Remuneration: Based on experience, the range is €30k –  €60k per annum.

The role: 

Climate Horizons works with numerous international aid organisations, private partners and industry leaders on climate finance projects to provide highly skilled technical expertise.  We are looking for a consultant to support the technical application within climate finance; work areas will include stakeholder engagement, gender equality and social impact assessments (GESI), environmental screening and management systems. However, an adaptation or climate background is not necessary for this role. 

 

We expect that the candidate will:

  • Based either in the United Kingdom or Europe, but candidates from selected African regions will be considered 
  • A background in environmental and social impact assessments or development of at least 5 years 
  • Experience/knowledge of sustainable development, conservation, environmental or sustainability consulting, etc., would be a bonus, but training will be offered to the right candidate.
  • Hold an environmental sciences education (environmental sciences, geology, biology, maths, chemistry, geology, etc.); preference will be given to those with a Masters, but an undergraduate with relevant solid experience will be considered.
  • High-level professional English writing skills (for report and project writing)
  • English-speaking is a must, and any additional languages (especially Italian, French, Spanish or Portuguese are a plus)
  • Confident command of Google Suite, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.. (We also use Slack and Monday.com, but these can be taught!)

The role: 

The Founding Director of Climate Horizons requires a proactive and confidential person with excellent organisation skills to support both Company and personal administrative tasks. As is the nature of our company, no day is the same, and we’re looking for someone happy with that! 

 

Please note that we are fully remote and prefer a candidate based in the Liguria region of Italy for occasional in-person meetings with the Director.

 

We expect that the role will include:  

  • Track, manage, pay invoices and schedule payments 
  • Drafting documents, memos and emails as required
  • Scheduling meetings and appointments across time zones and fully-packed calendars 
  • Send meeting invites, reminders and other scheduling or calendar-based tasks 
  • Prepare, edit and format meeting minutes, presentations or other ad hoc tasks as required 
  • Arrange team meetings and support staff in planning retreats/meet-ups 
  • Manage the flow of information between the core team, Director and consultants 
  • Coordinate and manage meetings/sessions with external collaborators 

 

While previous experience working within the environmental/sustainability sector or interest herein will be advantageous, we do not expect the candidate to have a working knowledge of the consultancy sector.  

 

Requirements:  

  • Experience working in an administrative, management, business administrator (or similar) role 
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Italian languages is essential; other European languages would be welcome! Please do not apply if you don’t speak Italian or English 🙂 
  • Flexibility, adaptability and exceptional organisational skills are a must 
  • Confident command of computers, Google Suite and programs (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.) 
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently

 

At this stage, the role will be part-time and contractual; there is the opportunity to expand into a full-time permanent position for the right candidate in accordance with the company’s long-term growth.

 

Starting date: ASAP 

Remuneration: 20/30 hours per monthly contract – to be discussed with the candidate – fully remote.
