In collaboration with SHELTER, Climate Horizons led a team of global experts in the production, technical management, and facilitation of the first sustainability report of an African-based national oil and gas provider towards its net-zero journey and just transition.
As a prominent company in the region and continent providing numerous employment, professional development, and training opportunities to local communities, the provider is ambitiously committed to improving its overall ESG efforts and performance.
The consultancy scope – with Maia as Technical Director – oversaw various technical workstreams, including sustainability (ESG) data mapping and collection, ESG materiality mapping, GHG calculations, TCFD, data collection, stakeholder engagement, and supporting experts as necessary.
The final TCFD-aligned report described the ESG efforts and commitments, including GRI indexing and materiality mapping, Scopes 1 and 2 GHG emissions protocol, and an associated climate change report.

The Laudes Foundation, Wallace Global Fund, and the Ford Foundation are respected international philanthropic organisations with respective aims to resolve systemic injustices, social movements, a just transition, and social justice.
In collaboration with Climate Horizons, the organisations embarked on a globally-scoped project to map the initiatives and stakeholders involved in just transition, convening stakeholder discussions and assessments and providing recommendations to guide practical philanthropic work and ensure equitable sharing of just transition benefits. There is a particular interest in, and centring on, rights-based, worker- and community-led approaches and those that work to drive labour rights into climate policy.
Climate Horizons led the project with a team of experts and specialists in climate change, energy and just transition, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement from Europe, Africa, Latin America, and Asia, undertaking a strategic approach of robust mapping and literature review, stakeholder engagement, and concentrated reporting.

Strengthening Climate Resilience of the Lao PDR Health System, for Save the Children Laos under Globalfields leadership (2022 – 23)
The Lao People’s Democratic Republic is a least developed country in Southeast Asia which experiences many extreme weather events, such as flooding and drought. These events are predicted to become more frequent and severe as climate change impacts increase, with direct and indirect impacts on an insufficiently prepared and equipped health sector.
This proposed project aims to strengthen the climate resilience of the health system through multiple approaches, including strengthening climate-resilient leadership and governance in the health system and health service delivery in rural areas to manage climate-related disease burdens; improving health information systems and improving communities’ knowledge of, and capacity to respond to, the impacts of climate change on their health.
Climate Horizons, in partnership with Globalfields, developed and managed all technical documentation for the environmental and social management plan, the GESI Assessment and Plan, Stakeholder Engagement design and reporting, and other technical documentation review and preparation for the Feasibility Study and Funding Proposal for the Green Climate Fund.
